The present research aimed to know the role that the formative evaluation fulfills in the teaching-learning process, this is based on a continuous evaluation process that occurs during learning, based on the search and interpretation of evidence about student performance and the scope of students' different goals, projections or objectives. Within the methodology, analytical and research methods were used, thus knowing the importance of evaluation; analyzing the needs and interests of students through a survey that was conducted in the Technical Educational Unit "Walter Francisco Andrade Ortiz" of the City of Pedernales; with the aim of raising awareness in the teachers of the institution, the importance of formative evaluation as a means to raise the quality of performance of students, and thus to demonstrate the results of learning obtained within the classroom in students: The results of the research showed that the formative assessment improves the school performance of the students and this can be used as a strategy to promote collaboration between them.

This study aims at investigating (1) To what extent performance assessment successfully fosters students' learning ownership and writing achievement and (2) Teachers' readiness related to the implementation of performance assessment in writing courses. This study was conducted using a mixed methods approach. Quantitative analysis of MANOVA was used to know the effect of performance assessment on students' learning ownership and writing achievement; while qualitative analysis was conducted for data of teacher readiness gathered using questionnaires and interviews. The subjects of the study were 32 EFL teachers and 82 students of Junior High Schools in Bali. Results of the analysis show that performance assessment significantly affects students' learning ownerships and writing competency; while teachers' readiness in implementing performance assessment largely depends on the availability of assessment instruments which are different from the traditional multiple choice type test.

Teacher education refers to the policies and procedures designed to equip prospective teachers with knowledge, attitudes, behaviors’ and skills they require to perform their tasks effectively in the classroom, school, and wider community. The term ‘teacher training’ seems to be losing ground to ‘teacher education’. In the era of globalization, when the world is changing so fast, the teaching field is also not unaffected. The approach of second language teaching that is ELT (English language teaching) has undergone a sea change. The “drill and practice” method is now considered to be rudimentary. Now, there are electronically sophisticated machines which have entered teaching-learning setting. Machine–assisted learning or e-learning is indeed an innovation in ELT. Even students find this new way of learning a second language to be amazing. Using language games is an efficient way of learning a second language.
