An effective scheduling scheme for CoMP in heterogeneous scenario

Abstract: Coordinated Multi-Point (CoMP) transmission is considered as a tool for 3GPP LTE-Advanced to increase the cell edge throughput. In CoMP JT (Joint Transmission) mechanism, multiplied time-frequency resources are occupied by JT users. Additionally, scheduling relevancy exists among the users, i.e., scheduling orders of different users influence on the cell average and cell edge throughput. So the impact of scheduling relevancy should be considered among the users in the same coordination cluster. Otherwise, the … Show more

“…Because both the numerical and simulation results are approximately similar, we can state that our numerical model is properly formulated. For further evaluation of our proposed scheme on various performance metrics, that is, throughput, beam utilization and fairness, we compare our results with a reference scheme proposed by Li et al in .…”

“…In the literature, the studies of JT-CoMP in HetNets deal with resource scheduling, with the goal of maximizing throughput for the cell edge users [15,26], and with achieving efficient use of power to produce solutions that are compliant with green communication paradigms [14,47].…”

“…On the other hand, some studies have discussed multicell CoMP transmission (CoMP) [8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15] of cellular network. CoMP-JT is a promising technique that guarantees data availability at multiple coordinated SBSs transmitted to a user simultaneously to improve the received signal quality of the user and reduce intercell interference, which is proposed in Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) LTE-Advanced systems [8].…”

In [9][10][11], the authors studied CoMP-JT from the aspects of throughput and coverage probability. However, EE optimization is not considered.…”
