An efficient combinational approach for PAPR reduction in MIMO–OFDM system

Abstract: The multiple input multiple output (MIMO) with orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) has emerged as a promising solution to enhance the channel capacity and diversity of wireless communication system without any increase in bandwidth. In this paper, a parallel combinational scheme is proposed to reduce peakto-average power ratio (PAPR) in MIMO-OFDM system under Rayleigh fading environment. The proposed method intelligently incorporates both active gradient project and partial transmit sequence sche… Show more

“…These two methods are less complex than the conventional method, though they become more complex as more users participate. A parallel combination scheme has been proposed to sustain bit error rates and to limit the PAPR . In this scheme, signals are clipped and an acceptable PAPR is chosen.…”

“…A parallel combination scheme has been proposed to sustain bit error rates and to limit the PAPR. 18 In this scheme, signals are clipped and an acceptable PAPR is chosen. When this scheme cannot be implemented, the procedure is repeated until the system identifies a signal with a low PAPR.…”

“…An OFDM system has many advantages that make it superior to the rest of the multicarrier modulation techniques, such as a high capacity, immunity against intersymbol interference, and efficient bandwidth utilization [1][2][3]. OFDM is also utilized in the long-term evaluation (LTE) standard for fourth generation (4G) mobile communications [7,8], and OFDM has recently been considered as one of the essential candidates in fifth generation (5G) wireless communication systems [9].
