An Energy Efficient, Minimally Intrusive Multisensor Intelligent System For Health Monitoring Of Elderly People

Abstract: Most of the existing systems for elderly health monitoring deploy a large number of cognitive sensors including wearable sensors for physiological parameter measurement. Increasing number of sensors not only make the system power consuming and expensive but also intrusive in nature. However, there exists very limited research on power saving algorithms in such systems incorporating customer friendly features. In this paper, we report a modified health monitoring system which addresses both these issues. The ce… Show more

“…A data-driven model based on twin support vector regression (TSVR) is constructed by using training set, the parameters of which are optimized by particle swarm optimization algorithm (PSO). This optimized model is tested and evaluated by testing set [24][25]. Finally, key parameters including mother liquor supersaturation and purity will be predicted on-line.…”

“…The basic mechanism for topology independent routine is to generate algebraic structures by address computation thus forming logic linkages between the nodes in the network for routine programming to guarantee the efficacy of data routine. In some existed cases, some specific nodes, generally central, sink or leader, are required to perform the programming or scheduling for hop-based routine task [15] [17]. Therefore, most topology-dependent distribution protocols need to carry out based on leader election, which needs more resources to perform the computation task.…”

“…On the other hand, if we focus on the energy consumption of the interface, we can improve the energy efficiency of the interface by studies with the aim of the improvement for energy efficiency of sensor systems for using in a long term. Samanta et al propose the algorithm to expect human behavior for improving the energy efficiency of sensor systems [15].…”
