An Improved Dynamic Programming Energy Management System for Parallel Hybrid Electric Vehicles According to Battery Model

Abstract: This article proposes an offline Energy Management System (EMS) for Parallel Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs). Dividing the torque between the Electric Motor (EM) and the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) requires a suitable EMS. Batteries are vital to HEVs and significantly impact overall vehicle cost and performance. High temperature and high battery State of Charge (SOC) are the main factors that accelerate battery aging. SOC is the most critical state variable in EMS and was usually considered the only dyna… Show more

“…Multiple non-isolated step-up dc-dc converters have recently been introduced [2], which have better voltage gain than conventional boost converters. A step-up dc-dc interleaved converter is proposed in [3], which employs a coupled inductor to increase voltage gain and provide soft switching conditions to minimize switching losses. However, despite these benefits, the voltage stress of the switches and diodes is the same as the output voltage.…”

“…In order to prevent these shocks and sudden changes in speed that lead to skidding and sliding of the car and as a result its instability, in this article it is suggested to use fuzzy logic controller. Fuzzy logic is very suitable controller for systems with complex dynamics or non-linear systems [22] and [23]. Figure (7) shows the structure of the fuzzy controller that used in this article.…”

“…This action is performed in the proposed control system through the fuzzy controller. Figure (23) shows the slip ratio of the left wheel in the front axle. According to the slip ratio curve related to the proposed method, in the 5th second when the deceleration starts, the slip has reached its maximum stable limit, i.e.…”

“…The voltage vectors are the major factors utilized to control the torque of a motor. Concerning the voltage vector of different switching states, a model predictive control model [17] was employed, in which two virtual voltage vectors are selected for controlled drive operation. Meanwhile, the torque and its ripple are the main factors that need to be solved for the effective operation of the induction motor so that the motor can be used in a variety of applications.…”
