-Recently, Korean system operating conditions have gradually approached an upper limit.When a contingency occurs, the power system may have no solutions. Different from the cases of bad initial guesses or the solutions are too close to the solvability boundary in which numerical methods can be applied, for unsolvable cases, the only way to restore solvability would be structure modifications. In this paper, a new approach for corrective and preventive control to such cases is proposed in two steps: (i) finding any solution regardless its feasibility; (ii) for the infeasible solution, make it feasible with additional modifications at load buses having Distributed Energy Resources. The test case built based on the peak load profile of 2008 by KEPCO including 1336 buses is analyzed. Since reactive power compensation is optimized to restore solvability, all demands are met, therefore no blackouts happen. The proposed method was integrated in the LP program designed by power21 Corporation.

The coordinated control of multiple-sources including wind, photovoltaic (PV) and storage brings new challenges to traditional dispatch and control technologies. This paper firstly introduces a framework of wind, PV and storage co-generation monitoring system. Then, key technologies of co-generation monitoring system including day-ahead optimal dispatching, active power coordinated control and reactive power and voltage control are proposed. The framework and the techniques described in this paper have been applied in the National Wind, Photovoltaic, Storage and Transmission Demonstration Project of China, and their validity have been tested and verified.

The proposed approach is based on a distributed control of intelligent agents in a multi-agent environment where each agent preserves its local information and communicates with its neighbours to find an optimal solution. In this study, optimality condition decomposition is used to decompose the overall problem into several subproblems, each to be solved by an individual agent. The main advantage of the proposed approach is that the agents can find an optimal solution without the interaction of any central controller and by communicating with only its immediate neighbours through neighbour-toneighbour communication.The proposed control approach is tested using the Nordic-32 test system and simulation results show its effectiveness, particularly in terms of its ability to provide solution in distributed control environment and reduce the control complexity of the problem that may be experienced in a centralised environment. The proposed approach has been compared with the traditional Lagrangian decomposition method and is found to be better in terms of fast convergence and real-time application.
