“…12 However, some of these techniques require a low pollutant concentration for efficient pollutant removal or require the transportation, storage and handling of hazardous reactants. [15][16][17][18][19] The performance of this process is based on the electrochemical in situ generation of H 2 O 2 from the continuous aeration on the cathode (eqn (1)). 14 Electro-Fenton has been reported as the most economic and promising EAOP for the treatment of a wide variety of organic pollutants.…”

“…Not only in Taiwan, the textile industries of elsewhere all faced the higher and higher pressure from stricter governmental regulations and public attentions. Therefore, the development of textile wastewater treatment technologies to especially solve high color problems has drawn much attention from research communities and industries in this decade [3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10].…”

The high color and organic concentrations in textile effluents are usually difficult to be degraded and decolorized that the serious impact for water environment has drawn the attention of public and government.…”

“…The Asia‐Pacific region is the largest textiles manufacturing market accounting for about 68% market share. Therefore, the high demand in textile market sets goal for designing and preparation of varieties of huge amount of synthetic dyes whichposses a great threat to the environment, because the 5% landfill space is consumed by the textile waste and 20% of the fresh water becomes polluted during the treatment and dying of textiles . The coloured textile waste water, besides the aesthetic problem, inhibits the penetration of sunlight inside water and it disturbs respiration, biological and photosynthesis processes in the aquatic environment.…”

“…The conventional physical, chemical and biological treatments of textile wastewater are insufficient to independently remove colours from the effluent; but their combinations sometimes can remove up to 85% of the polluting chemicals from effluent. Thus, the research and development to encounter textile waste water is being followed through two parallel approaches, i. e., (i) complete degradation of the non‐reusable dye molecules present in the effluent by using advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) and (ii) the separation of reusable dye molecule through efficient adsorption followed by desorption . Among several AOPs, ozonation is considered to be one of the promising and practical approaches .…”
