An integrated P2P framework for E-learning

Abstract: The focus of this paper is to design and develop a Peer-to-Peer Presentation System (P2P-PS) that supports E-learning through live media streaming coupled with a P2P shared whiteboard. The participants use the "ask doubt" feature to raise and resolve doubts during a session of ongoing presentation. The proposed P2P-PS system preserves causality between ask doubt and its resolution while disseminating them to all the participants. A buffered approach is employed to enhance the performance of P2P shared whiteboa… Show more

“…• Low robustness and resilience during churn • Need higher bandwidth for better performance • Hard to maintain structure Mesh [9], [10], [11] • High robustness and resilience during churn Hybrid [12], [13] • Churn resilience in mesh regions of topology • Low delay and network overhead in the tree regions • Works well with heterogeneous bandwidth…”

“…In other mesh based approaches, such as, [9], Prime [10], and CoolStreaming [11], the node asks for data packets from multiple parents and combines them to decode a stream. Also, a peer can work both as a client as well as a server, a node receives stream from its parents as a client and then forwards the stream to its children behaving as a server, this approach is called Swarming which is also used in BitTorrent [15].…”

“…In future research works, we will further explore the HRV levels of healthy subjects and patients, especially the patients with cardiac diseases (such as arrhythmia, myocardial ischemia, and coronary heart disease), and then design an automated and accurate WTs control system to affect the HRV by changing the WTs so that the HRV level is indirectly controlled in a safe and comfortable range based on individual health condition, which would appropriately reduce the possibility of sudden onset of cardiac disease during bathing. Moreover, in order to achieve the purpose of lifelong healthcare, we will also explore how to apply the cutting-edge blockchain technology in the long-term tracking of ECG data during bathing for the big data collection and analysis [ 62 , 63 ]. Another particularly crucial research topic is the physiological signal encryption and secure transmission related to the privacy protection, some emerging technologies provide a valuable reference [ 64 , 65 ].…”

“…Another real-world application of secure edge computing lies in the domain of smart grids. Smart grids are recognized as the next-generation intelligent network that maximizes energy efficiency ( Wang et al, 2020 ). Smart grid solutions help to monitor, measure and control power flow in real-time that can contribute to the identification of losses, and thereby appropriate technical and managerial actions can be taken to prevent the same.…”
