“…We wish to report on the results pertaining to spinning performance and yam properties of a joint project carried out by SAWTRI (now Incorporated in the CSIR Division of Processing and Chemical Manufacturing Technology), the CSIRO Division of Textile Physics (now part of the Division of Wool Technology), and the Ilkley Development Centre of the IWS, topmaking results having been reported on previously [1]. Good correlations were obtained between the spinnability results, as assessed by the test of mean spindle speed at break (MSS), obtained by the three laboratories as well as between the physical properties of the yams spun by different laboratories.…”
