Abstract

combined effect of pointing error and channel turbulence is highly degrading the channel capacity of the FSO channel. CONCLUSIONFSO communication is an upcoming wireless technology designed provides the last mile access and other indoor applications. But they are greatly hampered by the channel turbulence and pointing error effects. In this article, the effects of these adversities are investigated by deriving the closed form expressions for the ABER and ergodic channel capacity for a BPSK-SIM FSO system. The analytical graphs of these parameters are then plotted. These plots clearly indicate the effects of the FSO channel on the performance of the communication system.
