An IoT-Based Healthcare Platform for Patients in ICU Beds During the COVID-19 Outbreak

Abstract: There is a global concern with the escalating number of patients at hospitals caused mainly by population aging, chronic diseases, and recently by the COVID-19 outbreak. To smooth this challenge, IoT emerges as an encouraging paradigm because it provides the scalability required for this purpose, supporting continuous and reliable health monitoring on a global scale. Based on this context, an IoT-based healthcare platform to provide remote monitoring for patients in a critical situation was proposed in the aut… Show more

“…As to whether the face monitoring system can cover all the activity areas of patients, there are still some obstacles for developing countries or backward regions. By integrating wearable and unobtrusive sensors, the study in [ 40 ] extends the AIoT-based healthcare platform for remote intensive care of patients. The main work of the platform is to collect and process patient data to facilitate rapid clinical intervention.…”

“…A three-level architecture using deep machine learning and speech processing has been proposed by a researcher which can detect the presence of coronavirus in the human body by his voice [2]. A healthcare monitoring system is designed which will monitor patients' health remotely using sensors and many more IoT devices for the patients who are in ICU [3]. For vaccination support and contact tracing system is proposed, a system is proposed for the collaboration of multiple robots which will be very helpful in the fight against COVID-19 and a solution is also provided for contact tracing using blockchain technology [4][5][6].…”
