“…On kiwifruit in Fethiye, located in the western Mediterranean, it was reported to cause darkening and rotting of bark and wood tissue, wilting, and ultimately plant death (Demir, 2000). P. carotovorum was identified in dieffenbachia plants in the eastern Mediterranean (Cetinkaya‐Yildiz et al., 2004), in tomato greenhouses in Mersin province and Hatay province (Aysan et al., 2004), and in tulip growing areas in Konya province (Boyraz et al., 2006), P. atrosepticum in sunflower growing areas in Konya (Baştaş et al., 2009, P. carotovorum on artichokes in Aydın (Ustun & Arslan, 2016), on white cabbage in Samsun and Yozgat (Aksoy, Ozturk, & Aktas, 2017; Ozturk & Soylu, 2022), and on bananas in Mersin province (Basım et al., 2019). Furthermore, P. betavasculorum was identified as the causal agent of vascular necrosis and tuber rot in sugar beets in Yozgat province, marking it as the first recognized pathogenic bacterium of the Pectobacterium genus in Turkey (Ozturk et al., 2019).…”
