An Overview of Metabonomics Techniques and Applications

Abstract: Metabonomics is the comprehensive and simultaneous systematic profiling of metabolite levels and their temporal changes in whole organisms. The main analytical techniques employed for metabonomic studies are based on nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and mass spectrometry (MS). This article describes types of samples, applications, and technologies used in metabonomics.
