“…This is the case for the RETX 2 compounds when X is either Sb or Bi. Examples include strong magnetic anisotropy and a magnetic field-induced quantum critical point (QCP) in CeAuSb 2 [4] ferromagnetism in the Kondo lattice systems CeNiSb 2 and CeAgSb 2 [5,6], quasi 2D fermions and quantum magnetoresistance in LaAgBi 2 [7], superconductivity in LaPd 1 À x Bi 2 [8], heavy fermion behavior in CeTBi 2 (T ¼Ni, Cu, Ag) [9], and a compound recently reported as CeAu 0.92 Bi 1.6 [10]. Typically, Cebased ternary intermetallic systems are most studied due to the potential for heavy-fermion superconductivity (like CeCoIn 5 [11] and CeIrIn 5 [12]), Ce valence fluctuation, and interesting magnetism from electron correlations; as such there have been several studies on CeTSb 2 and CeTBi 2 (T¼ Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Pd, Ag, Au) systems [9,13,14].…”
