Abstract: SummaryBackgroundColonoscopy is a standard and useful examination in the diagnosis of colorectal diseases; however, it usually causes pain to patients. Some patients receive narcotic drugs, e.g., meperidine, for pain relief if a colonoscopy is carried out without sedation.
