Analysis and Estimation of Values of Currents and Voltages at the Disturbances in Induction Machine Using Tested Matlab Simulation

Abstract: Abstract-The paper we presents mathematical model for analysis of transitional processes in three-phase induction motor, that is, wave forms of currents and voltages in time domain and phase coordinates. Model is suitable for relay protection of the motor from disturbances and for estimation of electrical energy quality in the distribution network. New constructions of induction motors present more progressive technical solutions comparing with classical variants and reliable entity only within selected system… Show more

“…Voltages at the machine ends are symmetrical, if the machine is connected to the voltage system in the GDS, and symmetry can be disturbed by a phase cutoff or feeding from convertors [6,12]. The form of symmetrical components from equation (11) can for some reason be modified, for example, to solve simultaneous asymmetries on GDS models or to introduce the new system components [10,13]…”

“…In Clarke coordinate system (α, β, 0) all variables are sinus and when choosing calculation steps attention is placed on the minimum time constant and adequacy of sinus value approximation. In the case of modelling a system in a coordinate system d, i, 0 which is connected to a rotational flux this problem does not exist because within this system (and any system whose rotation is synchronous to the rotational field) all variables in a stationary state appear as constant values [12,18].…”

“…In transient processes of electric machines [2], in addition to the fundamental harmonics and higher voltage harmonics, there are also:  excessive values of currents and magnetic inertia and saturation of magnetic circuits,  large electrodynamic forces caused by excessive currents and influence of interaction of these currents with the shells and armor of ferromagnetic materials,  creation of conditions for ferroresonance, mechanical vibrations in core sheets [3][4]  accelerated aging of insulation material due to cyclic changes of induction,  increase in losses in copper (due to fundamental and higher harmonics),  increased losses in the core (due to hysteresis and vortical currents).…”

“…Solutions for wandering currents can be determined by the criterion of similarity to transient currents on power lines. Discharge is an electromagnetic high-frequency phenomenon whose effects are surges and surges, resulting from rapid changes in the potential gradient near the ground, and the direct impact of the discharge leader into conductors or parts of electrical equipment [4,5].…”
