“…The input images were thresholded using two different algorithms, Otsu [25] and Yen [26], where Otsu's algorithm automatically sets the threshold based on the variance of the histogram to achieve the lowest intensity variance, while Yen's algorithm uses quartiles to statistically determine the threshold.
