Analysis of White Feces Disease (WFD) caused by Vibrio sp. Bacteria and Dinoflagellata in Vannamei Shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) in Brackishwater Culture Pond

Abstract: Highlight ResearchIndicated that white feces at Vanammei appeared along with the appearance of the disease besides its main trigger that is Vibrio sp.Increase the availability of carbon for photosynthesis process of phytoplankton.Clinical symptom of shrimp attacked by white feces disease is indicated by a change in intestine.AbstractShrimp disease that currently causes economic loss to shrimp farmers is White Feces Disease (WFD). This disease appeared due to several factors, such as poor pond management, unhea… Show more

“…extract was found in the white sea bass diet and was found to alter phagocytic activity when tested with Vibrio alginolyticus bacteri [38]. Apart from the primary trigger, Vibrio sp dinoflagellates are the cause of white feces sickness [39]. The distribution of phytoplankton is regulated by the physical and chemical characteristics of water, particularly the availability of nutrients [40].…”

“…While at high concentrations of compounds, these compounds coagulate and the cytoplasmic membrane lysis. The mechanism of each of these phytochemical compounds synergizes with each other so as to increase their effectiveness and activity in inhibiting growth or killing bacteria [32,33]. The positive control indicated the formation of an inhibitory zone around the paper disc, so it could be seen that medi-clin had antibacterial activity that could affect the growth of the test bacteria.…”

“…Vannamei shrimp (Litopenaus vannamei) is known as a fast-growing shrimp that can be cultured in high stocking density (Arsad et al, 2017). In aquaculture systems, physical and chemical parameters have a significant impact on organic and inorganic nutrients (Adam et al, 2022). The rise of sea levels, high temperatures, unpredictable weather, and too much rain has the greatest impact on shrimp production, with a loss of 10-30% or even 100% of shrimp income (Quach et al, 2017).…”
