Abstract:This article discusses the student permanence in technical courses that are subsequent to high school at the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina (Instituto Federal de Santa Catarina – IFSC – initials in Portuguese from Brazil) and presents the results of a study carried out with teachers and students of these courses.
