During the COVID-19 pandemic, companies experienced changes in working hours and faced different work situations from before the pandemic. One of the most important things to face these challenges is how to maintain the performance of the company's employees so that they continue to give their best performance. This is due to health threats, changes in the work system, and changes in the environmental conditions faced. The novelty of the study when compared with previous studies is that there are differences in exogenous variables. The researcher analyzed the influence of the safety culture and sense of belonging variables on performance, which was processed using SMART PLS to determine the magnitude of the influence of each variable indicator. The research method used is a quantitative method with a survey approach. This study used a sample of 66 people who were obtained by random sampling technique, had a minimum of one year of work experience and were permanent employees of the company. Each variable will be tested for convergent validity, discriminant validity, reliability, R2, and significance. The results of the research based on the value of R2 show that the culture of safety and sense of belonging has an influence of 24.6% on performance. The safety culture indicators have a significant effect on performance with a T count = 4.655, while the sense of belonging has a significant effect on performance with a T count = 3.451. Finally, it can be concluded from the results of research on employees of manufacturing companies in Merak Banten that both latent variables exogenous safety culture (X1) and sense of belonging (X2) with their indicators significantly affect performance (Y). This means that by increasing the culture of safety and sense of belonging, it will be able to improve employee performance in the company.

In recent years, chemical laboratory accidents have frequently occurred in Chinese universities. A three-year safety inspection by the Ministry of Education of China discovered many issues in university chemical laboratories, including inadequate hazards identification, limited risk awareness, and insufficient safety management. In view of these problems, this study established the inherent hazards assessment and classification (IHAC) method for university chemical laboratories. We quantitatively evaluated the materials, equipment, and processes of chemical laboratories for inherent hazards. To differentiate levels of supervision over inherent hazards, we separated chemical laboratories into four tiers: A, B, C, and D. We used IHAC in a Chinese university's chemical laboratory to show that it can effectively identify and evaluate laboratory dangers. Simultaneously, splitting laboratories into multiple levels can result in more targeted laboratory safety management and accident prevention.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) indicates that academic laboratories are 11 times more dangerous than the industrial sectors. The nutrition laboratory is a place that has a high potential to cause fire because there are cooking activities, where these activities are very risky because they deal directly with fire and gas cylinders there. If the gas cylinder has a leak, it can cause a fire risk. This study aims to look at the preparedness of fire disaster management in the Nutrition Laboratory at University X in Semarang city. The research design used in this research was a descriptive qualitative. There were 3 informants, namely the person in charge of the nutrition laboratory and 2 students of the Nutrition Study Program. Data collection techniques used in this research was in-depth interviews. The results showed that the nutrition laboratory at University X in Semarang city already had management related to fire prevention such as the availability of fire extinguishers, evacuation routes, and assembly points. It is recommended that related parties complete active and passive protection systems, improve fire prevention teams, train and socialize, and conduct regular testing of active protection facilities in the Nutrition Laboratory.
