Angiography of the Testicular Artery

Abstract: The resolving capacity of magnification testicular angiography, as related to the known vascular anatomy of the testis and epididymis, was analysed on the basis of 9 normal angiographies and 8 cases of hydrocele with proven normal status of the testis and epididymis. The intratesticular vascular arrangement was demonstrated remarkably well, but of the epididymal vascularity only that in the head of the epididymis. The vascular anatomy of the testis as resolved by angiography may be utilized in the diagnosis of… Show more

“… 13 Magnification testicular angiography can be used to study the vascular anatomy of the testis for diagnosis and determination of the characteristics, location, and nature of both intra and extra testicular masses. 14 Diagnostic clinicians and surgeons may come across low origin of testicular artery during angiography for radiological diagnosis and treatment of undescended testis or cryptorchidism. 15 , 16 …”

“…In the lower part of the testis, the descend ing branch of the testicular artery is sometimes present [13,14], Injuries to these main blood vessels can be avoided by shallow suturing of the tunica albuginea. Suture was done with silk, because recurrence of torsion has been reported after fixation using catgut [15][16][17].…”
