The emergence of a new pandemic, known as COVID-19, has touched various sections of the supply chain (SC). Since then, numerous studies have been conducted on the issue, but the need for a holistic review study that highlights the gaps and limits of previous research, as well as opportunities and agendas for future studies, is palpable. Through a systematic literature review on blockchain technology (BCT) deployment in supply-chain management (SCM) concerning the COVID-19 pandemic, this research seeks to add to the content of previous studies and to enlighten the path for future studies. Relevant papers were found using a variety of resources (Scopus, Google Scholar, Web of Science, and ProQuest). Seventy-two articles were systematically selected, considering the PRISMA procedure, and were thoroughly analyzed based on BCT, methodologies, industrial sectors, geographical, and sustainability context. According to our findings, there is a significant lack of empirical and quantitative methodologies in the literature. The majority of studies did not take specific industries into account. Furthermore, the articles focusing on the sustainability context are few, particularly regarding social and environmental issues. In addition, most of the reviewed papers did not consider the geographical context. The results indicate that the deployment of BCT in several sectors is not uniform, and this utilization is reliant on their services during the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, the concentration of research on the impacts of the BCT on SCM differs according to the conditions of various countries in terms of the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. The findings also show that there is a direct relationship between the deployment of BCT and sustainability factors, such as economic and waste issues, under the circumstances surrounding COVID-19. Finally, this study offers research opportunities and agendas to help academics and other stakeholders to gain a better knowledge of the present literature, recognize aspects that necessitate more exploration, and drive prospective studies.

This paper makes an initial attempt to develop a theory of supply chain resilience through ambidexterity in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. We conducted a single-case analysis focusing on Zong-Teng Group, one of the biggest cross-border e-commerce enterprises in China, as our sample. Data were mainly collected from interviews with Zong-Teng managers and public online resources. Through case analysis, this paper identifies that a fit between the information processing requirements of a firm and its information processing capability leads to greater ambidexterity for exploitation and exploration, which in turn improves supply chain resilience (SCR) in the form of agility, redundancy and flexibility. In addition, ambidexterity in terms of morality improves SCR culture. This paper may be the first to adopt information processing theory to examine SCR and consider the role of ambidexterity, noting that crises such as COVID-19 impose an exponential increase in information processing requirements, to which many firms fail to respond effectively.

In the contemporary globalized business environment, the escalating complexity in supply chains has led organizations to face an array of burgeoning risk factors. To address these challenges, firms strive to enhance their visibility across various supply chain levels by equipping themselves with the ability to scrutinize operational activities and effectively manage supply chain risks. This study employed a quantitative approach by administering a survey questionnaire to 158 manufacturing companies in Malaysia. Partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS‐SEM) was utilized to examine the anticipated relationships. By drawing on organizational information processing theory principles, this study investigates the influence of supply chain operational reference (SCOR)—based data analytics capability (SCOR‐DAC) in bolstering firm performance by developing a more secure, risk‐averse enterprise, and improved strategic alignment. Additionally, this study investigates the mediating role of supply chain and risk management performance in the relationship between SCOR‐driven data analytics and organizational performance and the interaction between business strategy alignment and SCOR‐DAC. The study accentuates the notion that the capacity to manage disruptions, attained through improved risk management performance, positively impacts a firm's performance. Furthermore, the research underscores the importance of the synergy between data analytics and organizational strategies in constructing a holistic approach to risk management and performance enhancement. The findings offer valuable insights for companies aiming to enhance risk management and improve overall performance by increasing investments in data analytics and fostering a data‐driven culture for consistent business growth.
