Anti-inflammatory and non ulcerogenic activities of acetylbergenin

Abstract: Endopleura uchi (Huber) Cuatrec. (Humiriaceae), the Brazilian Amazon plant, is used in folk medicine to treat arthritis and gastric ulcer. Bergenin, one of the chemical constituents of E. uchi, has antiinflammatory properties.
