Abstract:Hausa in Northern Nigeria as "Kuka", "Goruba", "Magarya" and "Kurna" while their respective English names are baobab, doum palm, jujube/Chinese date and Christ's thorn. People in North East Nigeria consume the fruit of these plants and believed to have nutritional and analgesic benefits.
