Anti-Proliferative Effect of Specific Anti-EGFR Single Chain Antibody on Triple Negative Breast Cancer Cells

Abstract: Background: Targeted therapy is an important treatment strategy that is widely used for cancer therapy. Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) is overexpressed in a significant percentage of Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) patients. Although Cetuximab, which targets EGFR, has shown some inhibitory effects on TNBC cells, Cetuximab resistance cases due to ligand-independent activating mutations in the EGFR gene limit its application. Due to various benefits of single chain antibodies (scFvs), the use of th… Show more

“…As a membrane-associated glycoprotein, CD90 is considered as a potential stem cell biomarker. , Tissue sections were treated by immunohistochemical staining (CD90) (Figure a), and positive immunohistochemical staining of CD90 was counted in ten randomly selected fields of view at the edge of the air pouch (Figure b). The results showed that UHMWPE had no significant recruitment effect on stem cells compared to control, while compared with CPP, a higher number of CD90-positive cells near the air pouch stimulated by ECPP particles was found, suggesting that the release of Eu ions could promote the recruitment of stem cells.…”

“…EGFR is a protein that is often overexpressed on cancer cells. Anti-EGFR antibodies can be used to target NDEs to cancer cells, or they can be used to deliver drugs or other therapeutics to cancer cells [145]. PD-1 (Programmed cell death protein 1) is expressed by T Cells and helps to regulate the immune response.…”
