Anticancer Effect of Moringa oleifera Leaf Extract on A2780 Ovarian Cancer Cell Line

Abstract: In this study we investigated anticancer effect of Moringa oleifera leaf extract on A2780 ovarian cancer cell line. The leave of Moringa oleifera were grinded into powder and the phytochemicals were extracted using 80% ethanol. For fractionation and partitioning process four kinds of solvents were used in order: Petroleum ether, Dichloromethane, Ethyl acetate and Water extract until the extract is colorless or lightened. For cell proliferation assay all samples were dissolved in DimethylSulfoxide. Anticancer e… Show more

“…This plant is known for its medicinal values and is widely used in the treatment of diabetics, ulcer, analgesic, fertility, liver disorder, wound treatment etc, (Kesharwani et al, 2014). Furthermore it has been studied for its antiinflammatory, anti‐coagulant, anti‐fungal and anticancer properties (Paula et al, 2017; Zayas‐Viera, 2016). Investigation of the aerial parts of M. oleifera concluded that, the hepatoprotective potential of this plant might be due to the presence of certain flavonoids and phenolic compounds (gallic acid, caffeic acid) and flavonoids (quercetin) in the free radical scavenging and antioxidant activity.…”
