Abstract:Any substance which prevents blood from clotting or prolongs the clotting time is called an anticoagulant. Some of them are isolated from natural sources like heparin, hirudin, anti-thrombin, urokinase, and streptokinase and some are synthetic e.g., Warfarin, acenocoumarol, brodifacoum.
