“…This is of particular interest when samples from patients with systemic sclerosis or lupus erythematosus are assayed for AECAs. Indeed, in patients with such systemic disorders, ANAs are frequently found at high titers and AECAs may contribute or may be associated with the pathogenesis and the activity of the disease (3,10,20).
