“…One of the ways to decrease the problem is to obtain antifeedant compounds. Endophytic fungi produced many compounds studied as antifeedants [ 104 , 105 , 106 ]. Li et al studied antifungal, BSLT, and antifeedant activity in the previous study.…”

“…The addition of some amino acids to the liquid culture medium or cultivation of B. bassiana on brain tissues of the ant Camponotus pennsylvanicus stimulated the production of several new variants of beauveriolides [ 251 , 252 ]. In a mixed culture of B. bassiana , the endophyte Irpex lacteus , and the phytopathogen Nigrospora oryzae , five new compounds were identified, but of the 20 isolated substances, tremulendiol A at a concentration of 6.25 µg/cm 2 had the maximum toxicity for silkworm [ 253 ]. In-depth metabolomic studies using MS/MS and high-resolution mass spectrometry revealed new compounds in Metarhizium spp., in particular, previously undescribed destruxins [ 254 ].…”

“…6 In the previous work, the antagonistic coculture with phytopathogen and the culture method activated the silent BGCs of endophyte to produce antiphytopathogenic and insecticidal cryptic metabolites for the natural agrochemical discovery. 7,8 The metabolites from the coculture of Pu-erh tea endophyte Daldinia eschscholtzii and phytopathogen Colletotrichum pseudomajus indicated the obvious difference by comparing with those of monocultures, and the fungal forms of coculture were more likely to that of D. eschscholtzii for the inhibition against C. pseudomajus. Moreover, in order to activate the more silent BGCs, the different culture methods were applied to the cocultures of C. pseudomajus and D. eschscholtzii.…”
