Antimicrobial gold nanorods with dual-modality photodynamic inactivation and hyperthermia

Abstract: Gold nanorods conjugated with a hydrophilic photosensitizer, toluidine blue O, acted as dual-function agents in photodynamic inactivation and hyperthermia against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.
