Antimicrobial Inhibition on Zoonotic Bacterial Escherichia coli O157: H7 as a Cause of Food Borne Disease

Abstract: Abstract:This study aims to accelerate zoonosis control system, secure food safety and improve the environmental quality.Meat samples, swab and water were acquired from five regions in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. The samples were implanted to bacterial growth medium inside the ice-box and carried to the lab to be inoculated with Nutrient Agar, Eosin Methylen Blue Agar Sorbitol Mac Conkey Agar (SMAC). IMVIC test, Biochemical Test and pathogenic test with blood Agar from the suspected Escherichia coli O157H7 resu… Show more

“…S. aureus and E. coli have shown increased antibiotic resistance; furthermore, Staphylococcus aureus enterotoxins represent one of the main causes of food-borne illness in the world, whose symptoms include intense diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain (Kadariya et al, 2014). P-fimbriated E. coli causes urinary tract infections and enterohemorrhagic E. coli 0157:H7 has been linked to outbreaks of hemorrhagic colitis, some of which included deaths, particularly among children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems (Winata Muslimin, 2015).…”

“…Air pollution has a more dangerous impact than pollution in general. Outdoor air pollution can sometimes be seen with the naked eye, such as black exhaust fumes from vehicles [17]. The activity of the garbage trucks will produce exhaust emissions into the air, both from the exhaust, from flying dust particles, and the decomposition of the transported waste.…”
