“…Similar incidence was reported by Prajapati et al (2.55%); on the other hand higher rates were reported by Maheshwari et al (9.81%). [34,35] The lower rates of blood-culture-positive enteric fever might be due to the use of antibiotics prior to the blood culture and low blood volume used for culture (10 ml for adult and 5 ml for children). However, we did not evaluate the prior antibiotic consumption by the patients before enrolment.…”
