Antioxidant and Antibacterial Activities of Dodecyl Tannin Derivative Linked with 1,2,3‐Triazole

Abstract: Dodecyl tannin derivative linked with 1,2,3-triazole was prepared by the click reaction of dodecyl azide and alkynylated tannin. The structure of tannin derivative was identified by FT-IR spectrometer and elemental analyzer, and the surface activity, antioxidant activity and antimicrobial activity of tannin derivative were studied. The surface tension of tannin derivative was significantly reduced because of the introduction of long chain alkyl groups, and the lowest surface tension was 38.87 mN/m at 1.0 mg/mL… Show more

“…This may explain the stronger antihyperglycemic effects of crude 80% methanol extracts. 56 The ethyl acetate fraction at 200 mg/kg and 400 mg/kg (p<0.01) and glibenclamide at 5 mg/kg (p<0.001) notably reduced blood glucose levels at the first and second hours; compared to the aqueous residue at 100 mg/kg. At the third hour, blood glucose levels were significantly lowered by glibenclamide at 5 mg/kg, ethyl acetate fractions at 200 mg/kg and 400 mg/kg, and aqueous fractions at 200 mg/kg and 400 mg/kg compared to an aqueous residue at 100 mg/kg (p<0.05).…”

“…There are phenol hydroxyl groups in the tannin's structure, [13,14] which could be used as a reducing and stabilizing agent for the synthesis of silver nanoparticles. [13,[15][16][17] Zhang et al [18] prepared cellulose hydrogel-based nano-silver nanocomposite by adding AgNO 3 solution dropwise into the mixture of cellulose and tannic acid(TA), where TA can generate abundant anchor sites for AgCl and the aromatic rings of TA can prevent AgCl nanoparticles from aggregating.…”
