Antioxidant and Hypoglycemic Activities of Clausena anisata (Willd.) Hook F. Ex Benth. Root Mediated Synthesized Silver Nanoparticles

Abstract: The present study was carried out to examine the hypoglycemic effect of Silver Nanoparticles (SNPs) using ethanolic root extract of Clausena anisata (Willd.) Hook. f. ex Benth. A cost effective and eco friendly technique for green synthesis of SNPs from 1mM AgNO 3 solution through the root extract was carried out. The biosynthesized SNPs were characterized using UV spectrophotometry, Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM), X-ray Diffraction analysis (XRD), Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) and … Show more

“…5 Silver nitrate has antiseptic properties. 6 In 1881 Crede introduced the use of dilute solutions of AgNO 3 in newborn babies› eyes at birth to prevent contraction of gonorrhea from the mother, which could cause blindness. 7 Therefore, many researchers have studied effects of silver nanoparticles in animal models.…”

“…The pharmacological treatment of diabetes is long-term, often life-long, which exacerbates the risk of adverse reactions and harmful impact of the drugs on the patients' overall health. The most common side effects include brain damage, erythema, stomach and gastrointestinal disorders, excessive body mass, metallic aftertaste in the mouth, heart failure, and vitamin B12 deficiencies [14]. All of the above suggest the need for less invasive, but also more effective methods.…”
