“…Reduced thickness of lamina propria and vessel density was reported as well. [32] Both ellagitannins and ellagic acid are the main components of pomegranate extract, which have anti-inflammatory properties. They are metabolized by gut microbiota to yield urolithins.…”

“…There is an accumulating evidence that antioxidant resveratrol (Cerqueira et al, ) regulates several inflammations via catalytic antioxidant system (Chang and Crapo, ; Cuzzocrea et al, ; Kahya et al, ). Herein, KJD significantly inhibited the level of lipid peroxide MDA and also enhanced the level of superoxide dismutase in the liver tissues of FCA‐treated rats, implying that an antioxidant effect of KJD mediates antiinflammatory effect of KJD in FCA arthritis rat model.…”

“…Kahya et al [35] evaluated the density of inflammatory cells in the middle ear in myringotomized rats to which pomegranate was applied; the study demonstrated that the density of inflammatory cells and MS were reduced compared to what happened with the control and saline groups. Similarly, Dogan et al [28] showed that the severity of inflammation and MS lessened in the treatment group after the administration of L-NAME.…”

“…Angiogenesis was used as a parameter in some studies of myringosclerosis; some authors associated angiogenesis with myringosclerosis, and still, other authors reported that they had found the relationship [25,35] . In our study, the severity of angiogenesis did not differ significantly in any group.…”
