Application of CFB technology for large power generating units and CO2 capture

Abstract: Data on the development of the circulating fluidized bed (CFB) technology for combustion of fuels in large power generating units are examined. The problems with raising the steam parameters and unit power of boilers with a circulating fluidized bed are examined. With the boiler system at the 460 MW unit at Lagisza (Poland) as an example, the feasibility of raising the efficiency of units with CFB boilers through deep recovery of the heat of the effluent gases and reducing expenditure for in-house needs is dem… Show more

“…Euler -Euler Method allows to trace gas-dynamic process in the furnaces of CFB boilers, but does not allow to consider the movement of individual particles of the fuel [7,8]. Lagrange-Euler approach allows to investigate a large number of individual dispersed particles, but not quite correctly reflected the processes in the lower furnace with circulating fluidized bed [9,10]. The computational grid consists of 137673 of cells that contains 27749 knots and has 272690 separate surfaces.…”

“…The main changes in the parameters may be temperature variations and fluid flow rate. The literature presents a broad description of analytical methods for solving problems of heat and mass transfer in a variety of heat exchangers [1][2][3]. To solve the problems, and presenting the results in the entire volume of investigation the most effective use of numerical simulation techniques [4,5].…”
