“…Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) as new porous materials have many applications in various fields such as drug storage and delivery (Kotzabasaki & Froudakis, 2018), gas storage (Lee & Bae, 2016; Mohamedali, Nath, Ibrahim, & Henni, 2016), material separation (Mohamedali, Ibrahim, & Henni, 2018), wastewater treatment (Kumar, Bansal, Kim, & Kwon, 2018), and photocatalysis (Subudhi, Rath, & Parida, 2018) due to unique features including high adsorption capacity, suitable biocompatibility, easy preparation and functionalization, and good biodegradability (Cai et al., 2019; McKinstry et al., 2016; McKinstry, Cussen, Fletcher, Patwardhan, & Sefcik, 2013).
