Abstract:The linear chemical-physical theory (LCPT) model for liquid metal solution thermodynamics has been extended to the determination of the liquidus curves for binary intermetallic compound-forming systems. The equations developed include corrections to the observed melting point temperature and heat of fusion for compounds that dissociate partially on melting. The primary advantages of the LCPT model for solid-liquid equilibria are the small number of physically realistic parameters required, ease of implementati… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
