Application of Transient Analysis Techniques to Fault Diagnosis in Low- and Medium-Power Synchronous Machines

Abstract: Fault diagnosis techniques applied to synchronous motors such as Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines (PMSMs) and Synchronous Reluctance Machines (SynRMs) are scarcely addressed in the literature, in strong contrast to the attention paid to asynchronous motors.
