“…O-Carboxymethyl chitosan derivatives with furfuryl glycidyl ether were successfully transformed into a cross-linked structure in the presence of Rose Bengal as oxygen sensitizer after exposure to visible lights between 420 and 490 nm for 60 to 180 s. 94 More recently, furfuryl−low-molecularweight chitosan was reacted with furfuryl isocyanate, and the obtained derivative was cross-linked in the presence of 0.1% riboflavin, under visible light for 10 min. 95 The synthesized bio-based materials could be formed directly at the surface of organs by irradiation with visible light. Prevention of adhesion in barrier tests proved the ability of the synthesized material to act as barrier adhesion agent for intraperitoneal region.…”
