Systemic Approach to Supply Chain Management through the Viable System Model and the Theory of Constraints Systemic Approach to Supply Chain Management through the Viable System Model and the Theory of ConstraintsIn today's environment, Supply Chain Management (SCM) takes a key role in business strategy. A major challenge is achieving high customer service level under a reasonable operating expense and investment. The traditional approach to SCM, based on local optimization, is a proven cause of meaningful inefficiencies -e.g. the Bullwhip Effect-that obstruct the throughput. The systemic (holistic) approach, based on global optimization, has been shown to perform significantly better. Nevertheless, it is not widely expanded, since the implementation of an efficient solution requires a suitable scheme. Under these circumstances, this paper proposes an integrative framework for supply chain collaboration aimed at increasing its efficiency. This is based on the combined application of the Beer's Viable System Model (VSM) and the Goldratt's Theory of Constraints (TOC).VSM defines the systemic structure of the supply chain and orchestrates the collaboration, while TOC implements the systemic behaviour -i.e. integrate processes-and define performance measures. To support this proposal, we detail its application to the widely used Beer Game scenario. In addition, we discuss its implementation in real supply chains, highlighting the key points that must be considered.

A gestão colaborativa em cadeia de suprimentos tem se mostrado um caminho para as organizações melhorem suas relações de forma a obter melhores resultados em seus negócios. Este modelo de gestão é relativamente complexo por envolver diferentes interesses das organizações, porém pode proporcionar novos conhecimentos capazes de contribuir com os resultados das empresas. É objetivo desse estudo, utilizando o método de revisão literária limitada especificamente ao tema, saber como valores e capacidades organizacionais são geradas por meio de ações colaborativas, relacionando-as com influenciadores que contribuem ou não com esse modelo de gestão. A pesquisa enfatizar a importância de todos os agentes da cadeia de suprimentos na construção da colaboração, aponta os influenciadores que contribuem ou não para esse modelo de gestão, e destaca os valores e capacidades organizacionais geradas, concluindo que o potencial gerado pela gestão colaborativa na cadeia de suprimentos reside no conhecimento adquirido e na vantagem competitiva que a organização obtém.Palavras-chave: Gestão Colaborativa; Cadeia de Suprimentos; Performance. O objetivo do presente artigo é identificar na literatura quais são os principais critérios considerados no processo de decisão, os principais métodos individuais e combinados e os subproblemas da seleção de fornecedores no contexto multicritério. Cabe ressaltar que as tarefas de avaliar e identificar os melhores fornecedores para um novo produto ou serviço são essenciais ao gerenciamento da cadeia de suprimentos (GCS). Para executá-las apropriadamente, considerando-se a natureza multicritério da seleção de fornecedores, torna-se necessária a inclusão de uma abordagem de agregação dos critérios, cuja escolha depende basicamente dos objetivos da decisão, tipos de critérios a serem utilizados e racionalidade do decisor. Para atingir o objetivo proposto, optou-se por utilizar o procedimento da revisão sistemática da literatura que segue o protocolo proposto por Cronin, Ryan e Coughlan (2008), abrangendo artigos publicados nas bases ISI Web of Knowledge e Scopus, no período de 2001 a 2012. Além de sintetizar o conhecimento acerca do tema, o artigo ressalta os principais critérios, métodos e subproblemas da seleção de fornecedores, com isso, contribui ao identificar os aspectos que devem ser desenvolvidos em estudos futuros e ao apresentar aos gestores abordagens existentes para a tomada de decisões relativa à seleção de fornecedores de forma sistematizada.
