Abstract: Background: Aquaporin 9 (AQP9), an aquaporin protein family member, is permeable to water and other small molecules. Aquaporins play important role in a variety of pathophysiological processes, fostering growing interests in identifying them as diagnostic and therapeutic targets in cancer.
