Algeria's tourism sector plays a critical role in its economy, especially as the country faces an economic crisis due to its reliance on fossil fuels. However, despite its potential, the tourism industry has remained limited to coastal and desert tourism in the north and south, respectively. Therefore, diversifying the tourism product by exploring inland regions is necessary to restore regional balance and create geographical homogeneity. Djelfa, a city located in the central highlands of the Atlas Mountains, offers unique natural resources and cultural heritage, making it an ideal destination for ecotourism. This study evaluates the potential of Djelfa for tourism planning purposes, using scientific documentation, field survey techniques, and analytical methods like SWOT analysis. In addition, a survey was conducted amongst tourists to collect their opinions on the city's attraction characteristics. The data was processed using principal component analysis (PCA) in SPSS software. The study emphasizes the importance of tourism planning in the area and proposes suitable tourism projects for ecotourism and investment in the Senelba forest site. These projects will positively influence the environment, local population, and lead to real development at the local and national levels while preserving the area's cultural and natural heritage.

This study aims at understanding the role of civil society institutions and their initiatives in the preservation of urban heritage in Algeria. In fact, Algeria’s urban heritage is subject to a serious deterioration in several benchmarks that are affected by several issues threatening the balance of its social and economic development. Moreover, given the importance of preserving heritage areas due to their national wealth and the historical, cultural, economic and social values they represent, and the general trend towards the growth of the tourism industry and its economic benefits, it is increasingly urgent to find a balance between the protection of urban heritage and the tourism development. The main principles of sustainable tourism development are the involvement of civil society institutions and the local population in the development process by raising awareness, engaging the local inhabitants in tourism activities and providing sustainable tourism projects that generate incomes. Indeed, volunteering social work is one of the most important development factors in today's societies. To conduct this study, first the urban heritage situation in Dashrat Manaa was anlayzed, and then conducted a field survey in form of a questionnaire. The authors of the study performed a statistical analysis of the collected data and interpreted the results.

Putting territories "on the tourism" seems to have become an unavoidable practice for all countries, regions and cities that wish to receive a share of the manna generated by tourism. This is the case of Algiers, the capital of Algeria, which has a proven but unfortunately badly exploited tourist potential. The objective of this study is to propose another approach in the elaboration of the strategy of tourist development of the wilaya of Algiers. The article thus aims at identifying effectively the real tourist dimension of the territory of Algiers.To do this, the method developed by the Equipe MIT was used, based essentially on a precise diagnostic tool integrating relevant variables, both socio-economic and environmental. Thus, the study of these ten variables showed that even if certain factors go against the development of tourism, such as the weak reactivity of the public authorities or a rate of tourist function almost null, the majority of these variables are favourable to the development of the tourist activity and to the " putting in tourism " of this territory. Thus, the wilaya of Algiers is a city with a tourist function and meets all the conditions of success for its development as a tourist destination.
