Arduino based radiation survey meter

Abstract: Development of multichannel analyzer using sound card ADC for nuclear spectroscopy system AIP Conference Proceedings 1584, 50 (2014) Abstract. This paper presents the design of new digital radiation survey meter with LND7121 Geiger Muller tube detector and Atmega328P microcontroller. Development of the survey meter prototype is carried out on Arduino Uno platform. 16-bit Timer1 on the microcontroller is utilized as external pulse counter to produce count per second or CPS measurement. Conversion from CPS to do… Show more

“…2 it can be seen that the Arduino count is proportional to the pulse generator output with R 2 = 1. The counting system developed by Rahman can count a maximum of 65,535 cps [7], while the results of a previous study obtained a system that can count up to 150,000 cps [16]. Based on Fig.…”

“…There is a library for frequency calculations on Arduino as used by Purwowibowo [18], but the counting time cannot be changed, which is 1 second. Rahman set the Timer1 register as the counter and the delay() function as the timer [7]. In this study, Timer/Counter1 was used as a counter and Timer/Counter2 as a timer.…”

“…Arduino Nano is one of the most popular Arduino boards and consists of an 8-bit megaAVR (Atmel ATmega 328P, U.S.A.) MCU processor and provides a very compact geometry with low power consumption [21,22]. Arduino Due is a high-performance model among Arduino boards that consists of a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M3 core (Atmel ATSAM3X8E, U.S.A.) MCU processor and 84 MHz high-speed clock [23].…”
