“… 11 In a systematic review by Haroun et al. 12 comparing Bankart repair with remplissage versus the Latarjet procedure for engaging HSLs with subcritical bone loss, comparable clinical outcomes were found between the 2 procedures. There were no notable differences in recurrent instability with remplissage versus the Latarjet procedure, but a higher complication rate was found for the Latarjet procedure.…”

“…Patients with subcritical glenoid bone loss and engaging Hill-Sachs lesion can be managed by either a Latarjet procedure or an arthroscopic Bankart repair with remplissage. Both Haroun et al and Cho et al found that patients treated by Latarjet surgery had higher post-operative complications like coracoid nonunion, screw back out, and osteoarthritis than remplissage group [11,12]. Yang et al suggested in a prospective cohort study that in the revision scenario patients, who underwent remplissage, had a higher reoperation rate due to residual pain [13].…”

“… 20 Fewer complications and less technical demand in primary cases of the average population who are not collision or contact athletes were noted. 21 Although there is minimal loss of external rotation after surgery due to nonanatomic reconstruction, it is not functionally deficient and does not seem to be an issue in the long term. 14 , 22 Another concern about the remplissage procedure is postoperative pain, which has been reported in the literature.…”
