Artificial Intelligence for Radio Communication Context-Awareness

Abstract: This paper surveys Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods for acquiring and managing contextof-operation awareness of radio communication nodes, links, and networks. The meaning and significance of context information and suitability of Machine Learning (ML) methods for the enrichment of context information is discussed. A number of context features are considered in this regard and thorough analysis on which ML methods are suitable to which part of context learning is provided. The added value of the paper is t… Show more

“…As a solution to this problem, we propose Connectivity-Aware Relay Algorithm (CARA), a dynamic context-aware relay-placement algorithm that does not require any prior knowledge of the environment yet positions relays based on the estimated quality of the communications. Communication awareness is when the multi-robot system has the ability to adapt to changes in the quality of communication throughout the mission [ 8 ].…”

“…At the same time, the scientific community all over the world discusses the requirements and challenges for the next technological leap in the wireless communication domain, i.e., the sixth generation of cellular networks [1,2]. One of the key aspects in this context is the increasing role of artificial intelligence tools which are considered for 5G and also for future 6G networks [3,4].…”
