Assessment of a subtropical riparian forest focusing on botanical, meteorological, ecological characterization and chemical analysis of rainwater

Abstract: Riparian forests are heterogeneous environments, in which epiphytes find ideal conditions to develop. These plants absorb the necessary nutrients for survival from the atmosphere, and their occurrence and distribution can be influenced by the quality and quantity of precipitation. The objective of this research was to perform an integrated analysis of botanical, meteorological and chemical precipitation parameters so as to compare them in fragments of the riparian forest in the lower (São Leopoldo-SL) and uppe… Show more

“…In Brazil, the knowledge of epiphytic flora is broader in the south and southeast regions (Menini Neto et al, 2020). In riparian forests of southern Brazil, studies on epiphytism have been conducted by Graeff et al (2018), Rocha-Uriartt et al (2016), Costa et al (2020) and Bonnet et al (2010;, in the state of Paraná. In Rio Grande do Sul, among the research on epiphytes in riparian forests, there are the work of on the Uruguay River and that of Giongo and Waechter (2004); Guerrero et al (2018) on two streams located in the central depression of the State stand out.…”
