The represented study aims to assess the technogenic impact on the human-transformed landscape on the example of one of the Russian Federation regions. The hydrocarbon fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions in the local area are proposed to use as the main indicators of anthropogenic impact on the ecosystem. The research accents the neсessity of taking into account the motor vehicles’ negative impacts on the natural environment. The integrated application of suggested criteria allows assessing the actual state of the environment, to trace the correspondences between fuel consumption and the environmental pollution, and to formulate recommendations on the reduction of ecological and economic damage to the ecosystems.

Assessment of agricultural ecosystem benzo(a)pyrene pollution on a wheat field model

The represented research aims to assess the pollution of agricultural ecosystems with benzo(a)pyrene. The study considers the exhaust gases of heavy farming machinery as a primary source of pollution. This dangerous carcinogen entering air with internal combustion engines exhausts goes to the water and soil, and then, through the trophic chains, in a human body. Alongside the obvious negative impacts on human health, the benzo(a)pyrene exposure manifests through the decline in the agricultural ecosystems’ productivity, soil fertility, etc. The assessment was implemented on a wheat field model during harvest using the direct combining method. The model doesn’t consider the ambient pollution sources. The performed simulations allow disclosing the correlations between the harvesting machine’s velocity and pollutant’s emission mass on the model field, identifying the most environmentally dangerous engine’s operation mode, and pointing out the possible ways to decrease the benzo(a)pyrene impacts on agricultural ecosystems.

The purpose of this article is to evaluate the categorical concept of entropy in the structure of natural and technical systems related to the use of water resources, the quantitative and qualitative indicators of which are formed within the spatial limits of river basin geosystems. Using fundamental basic concepts as a universal measure of the forms of motion of matter – energy, time, system, system approach and important concepts – irreversibility, ecological state, environmental safety, as well as fundamental laws of thermodynamics – conservation and changes in the zones of influence of the “Object of Activity” in the form of a complex of hydraulic structures and associated buildings as part of natural-technical system “Natural Environment–Object of Activity–Population” (NTS “NE-OA-P”) on the use of water resources in economic and other activities, to give a detailed understanding of Entropy.
