Assessment of DSM Based on Radiometric Transformation of UAV Data

Abstract: Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is one of the latest technologies for high spatial resolution 3D modeling of the Earth. The objectives of this study are to assess low-cost UAV data using image radiometric transformation techniques and investigate its effects on global and local accuracy of the Digital Surface Model (DSM). This research uses UAV Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) data from 80 meters and UAV Drone data from 300 and 500 meters flying height. RAW UAV images acquired from 500 meters flying height ar… Show more

“…Indicators. The image quantitative evaluation index used in this study is the evaluation method proposed by Chaudhry et al (2021) [15], distribution separation measurement (DSM). When the DSM result is negative, it indicates that the contrast of the image is not enhanced, and when the DSM result is positive, it indicates 3 Computational and Mathematical Methods in Medicine that the image is enhanced, and the greater the DSM value, the better the contrast enhancement effect of the image.…”

“…DSM is one of the leading products of drone surveying. Actually, a DSM shows the topographic variations with all associated natural and artificial entities in a raster data model ( 36 ). By comparing Figures 7 a and b , and by taking a closer look at Figure 7 a , it can be seen that the moving vehicles are eliminated automatically in the step of DSM generation.…”

“…When compared to the centimeter-level accuracy of UAV photogrammetry and MLS, the 3D data from the Topcon GLS-2000 scanner (mm level) is sufficient to serve as a reference point cloud (Abbas et al, 2021). The spectral response of various features can be used to modify the weights of R, B, and G (Chaudhry et al, 2021). The spatial resolution of the photos is directly linked to how well the model works (Jakovljevic et al, 2020;Xu et al, 2020).…”
