“…The Netherlands had the same, but only for 2007. Eurostat eventually estimated the missing SUTs at basic prices for Greece and the Netherlands following Rueda-Cantuche et al (2017). 27 In this regard, we are fully aware that Eurostat estimations may introduce errors in the evaluation of the methods since these are not (strictly speaking) estimates coming from NSIs, which are the ones used for comparison.…”

“…Although the merits of different technology assumptions have been discussed (Kop Jansen and ten Raa, 1990; ten Raa and Rueda-Cantuche, 2003; Rueda-Cantuche and ten -Raa, 2009), we are only aware of one publication that explores assumptions that yield the best result: Rueda-Cantuche and ten Raa (2013) examine the product-by-product IOT of the Andalusian economy using information typically available only within the statistical office but not shared outside (e.g. survey microdata with firm granularity used for the compilation of the SUT) and compare the performance of pure assumptions (ITA or PTA) in predicting the published IOT.…”

“…In the present paper we explore the performance of different assumptions when the predictions of the resulting Leontief model are confronted with empirical observations. However, instead of using firms' microdata as Rueda-Cantuche and ten Raa (2013), the data considered in this study is the published SUT, which can more easily be accessed by practitioners outside of national statistical offices.…”

“…The resulting input-output tables (IOTs) in GTAP for the EU (for each Member State, 28 sets of tables) include the most recent updated supply, use and input-output tables (SUIOTs) and methods from Eurostat, while they are in line with the GTAP requirements. Further, the work follows Eurostat's recommendations for the estimation of missing IOTs (Rueda-Cantuche et al 2017). Eurostat has been consulted throughout the different stages of the work.…”
